Dr. Christopher Harvey is an East Austin, Texas native and product of the Austin Independent School District.  He graduated from “The One and Only”, LBJ High School Science Academy and went on to obtain an Advanced Bachelors of Social Work from Texas State University, a Masters of Education in Education Administration from Concordia University Texas, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.   ​

​Dr. Christopher Harvey is a leader in public education campus administration, teacher/administrator leadership development, program design/evaluation, building community/business partnerships, and enforcing state/federal guidelines.
Currently, Dr. Harvey serves at the Chief Academic Support Officer.  In this role he supervised Career and Technical Education, College, Career, & Military Readiness, Counselors, Social Workers, Nurses, Special Education/504/Dyslexia, Truancy, Alternative Programs, Policy, and MTSS.  In this role he improved had over 20% gains in CCMR, now projected to reach over 80%.  Special Education has improved as well.  The department reduced complaints and increased positive feedback from stakeholders regarding customer service and training support.  In addition, the district RDA report saw a decreased from DL4 to a DL3.  

As the past Executive Director of Federal, State, and Innovative Programs for Manor ISD he managed over millions in grants and built academic partnerships with companies like Dell, Samsung, AIRCO, TESLA, Applied Materials, and more.  
 
Over the last 15 years, Dr. Harvey has worked to end the school-to-prison pipeline through Restorative Justice/Practices, Teaching At-Risk Students Academic, Social, and Behavioral Skills, Preparing Students for College, Career, and/or Military Readiness, Providing Enrichment Activities and Family Education Workshops.  He spent two-years working to reduce discretionary discipline placements for the entire district by 49% and maintained a recidivism rate under 9%.  His leadership experiences span Kindergarten to Twelfth grade, including alternative programs, as well as staff and faculty positions in higher education.  

​Over the last two decades he has built, managed, and improved programs in central Texas districts in the following areas: School Transformation and Turnaround (Middle School, High School, & Alternative Education) Research, Internships, Early College High School, Career and Technical Education, College and Career ​Readiness, Academic Interventions, Improvement Planning, Family Engagement, Grants, and Federal & State Program.  

He continues to work part-time as an adjunct professor for Texas State University and Concordia University each semester.  He also owns and operates a consultancy firm. 

He has studied education in several states in the US, particularly in poverty stricken areas.  This also includes traveling to study education in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, and France, where he also presented and served on  panel discussions.

He has presented at many local, state, and regional conferences. His last major speaking opportunities are listed below:

In addition, Dr. Harvey was elected to serve the City of Manor in the City Council, Place 3 position  on November 5, 2019.  In November 2021, he was elected Mayor.  His areas of focus are Infrastructure, Economic Development, Family & Community Engagement, Job Training/Creation & Workforce Development, Recreation/Arts, and Long-range Strategic Planning. In December 2024, Dr. Harvey was reelected as Mayor. Currently he is focused on seeing the bond projects through to the construction process, building shared community values, enhancing infrastructure and related resources, and advocating for sustainable financial future. 

Chris is married to his wife Shaneen. They enjoy date nights, movies, and spending time with their 3 beautiful girls.
